Speculative City

Brief: “Creating a speculative metropolis”

Speculative City was a group project where we collaboratively built a composite city based on individual urban excursions. Each team member explored their own city, documenting the experience through photographs and sketches. These individual findings served as a foundation for collective design development, where elements from different members' research and designs were integrated to form a unified cityscape. Through this iterative process, we reinterpreted and amplified urban conditions to construct an imagined metropolis that reflected our combined perspectives.

I began by capturing photographs during my urban excursion, documenting the contrasts and unique juxtapositions within the city, which I titled "City of Odd Coexistence." Using these images as a reference, I then created drawings that further explored and interpreted the observed environments.

For the final version, we named our design "City of Male-Brain Box" and developed it through real-time collaboration in Adobe XD. We created a collage image where all of our excursions and collected elements coexist within the same space.

"Speculative City" was featured in an online publication, highlighting its exploration of urban reimagination through collaborative design.
