In Rate My Setup, the project explores the creation of personalized, maximalist altars built around the space from which we stream. These altars function as layered collages that combine 2D and 3D imagery, simulations, sounds, and both physical and digital objects. Elements like plants and environments range from small, intimate setups to expansive cityscapes, reflecting the creator’s ideal surroundings.
For my work, I was inspired by my family’s daily tea ceremony, a routine deeply rooted in my upbringing. Using familiar objects like a teapot, living room cabinets, and soft, ambient lighting, I designed a speculative tea ceremony space. This setup blends personal nostalgia with creative reinterpretation, transforming an ordinary ritual into a surreal, immersive experience.
